Dawkins proposed that altruism exists to further the organism's genes. On one hand, that can be framed to view humankind as the most selfish of beings. However, is it not beautiful that a person can get the utmost joy from another's happiness? Is it not beautiful that the most effective way of passing on these genes is through altruism and the happiness of others? Sometimes we forget our beauty.
