Clothing, fabric, needs to rest between wears. The fibers and weave relax. The fabric lasts longer. Likewise with shoes. Shoes worn everyday day in and day out wear faster than shoes that are worn one day and rotated with another pair. All the compressed materials relax, physically. Like a foam mattress self-inflates after unwrapping from the vacuum packaging.

Likewise, we put on emotional and intellectual type clothing in different aspects of life. We have a particular set of emotional and intellectual dispositions we wear at work. We have anothe set of emotional and intellectual dispositions we wear at home. Two different cloaks, really. Not physical, but like clothing. Those personality cloaks need rests too, otherwise they wear quicker. Take at least one day off from any regular set of habits each week.
