- Why I Still Use KeyHero
It is clear I could practice typing on other, arguably better sites - but why do I always return to KeyHero? The customisability is minimal, and the typing lessons are lacking. These flaws become glaring upon exploring these "better" alternatives, but I believe the sheer variety of submitted quotes - insightful, irate, idealistic, ironic - all coexisting in chaotic harmony is the biggest draw. KeyHero lets users submit their own quotes, and merely reading some of them gives me much enjoyment.
Lee Kuan Yew
If we are to survive as a free democracy, then we must be prepared, in principle, to concede to our enemies - even those who do not subscribe to our views - as much constitutional rights as you concede yourself.
Henri Lebesgue
- The Approach of the Lebesgue Integral
I have to pay a certain sum, which I have collected in my pocket. I take the bills and coins out of my pocket and give them to the creditor in the order I find them until I have reached the total sum. This is the Riemann integral. But I can proceed differently. After I have taken all the money out of my pocket I order the bills and coins according to identical values and then I pay the several heaps one after the other to the creditor. This is my integral.

- Parkour Civilisation - The Noob Layer
Here in Parkour Civilization, no one chooses to jump for the beef. It's better to be safe and do the one block jump for the chicken rather than risk your entire life for just half a hunger bar more.
Lee Kuan Yew
- Response to Tim Sebastian (BBC HARDTalk) on whether he is a ruthless man.
If I were a ruthless man, I would get you into a corner and say, "Now, let me ask you some questions: Why do you start with the assumption that your interviewee is always dumb, and that you are smarter than him? Why do you assume that Asians are somehow unable to understand Western ways of life, and that they would be so much better if they became more like the West?"
Jeremy Clarkson
Boredom forces you to ring people you haven't seen for eighteen years and halfway through the conversation you remember why you left it so long. Boredom means you start to read not only mail-order catalogues but also the advertising inserts that fall on the floor. Boredom gives you half a mind to get a gun and go berserk in the local shopping centre, and you know where this is going. Eventually, boredom means you will take up golf.
Lee Kuan Yew
- On the Death Penalty for Drug Traffickers (1)
In Singapore before you land, the air hostess or steward will announce that there are very heavy penalties if you are found with more than a stated number of grams of certain prohibited drugs. If you still come in with a few kilos of them, which will destroy hundreds, thousands of families, one death is too kind. Because you are killing that family, every day, for years, and years, and years, where the daughter or the son is an addict.
Ke Huy Quan
I like to clarify stunts and action. Stunts, to me, is people falling off ten-storey buildings or getting run over by cars. That is very dangerous. Actors don't do that; we don't do that. If we tell you we do that, we're lying! We do action, and that's the difference between stunts and action.
Jackie Chan
American stuntmen are smart - they think about safety. When they do a jump in a car, they calculate everything: the speed, the distance. But in Hong Kong, we don't know how to count. Everything we do is a guess. If you've got the guts, you do it. All of my stuntmen have gotten hurt.
Tablo
- Lost One (Heavily Abridged)
My child, when you follow, I leave my footsteps here for you. Steer clear of them. Now that I've run to the very end, I see that there's nothing I was looking for. I ran down this path for my family, only to have it take my father's life. Even if everyone welcomes you, they will abandon you. Even when they roll out the red carpet for you, don't forget it has turned red from your blood and sweat. I lost one too many things. Whatever you wish to become, I'll applaud you. Just don't end up like me.
Lee Kuan Yew
China could draw on a talent pool of 1.3 billion people, but the United States could draw on the world's seven billion people and recombine them in a diverse culture that exudes creativity in a way that ethnic Han nationalism cannot.
Josip Broz Tito
- To Joseph Stalin
Stop sending people to kill me! We've already captured five of them, one of them with a bomb and another with a rifle... If you don't stop sending killers, I'll send a very fast working one to Moscow and I certainly won't have to send another.
Josip Broz Tito
I am the leader of one country which has two alphabets, three languages, four religions, five nationalities, six republics, surrounded by seven neighbours, a country in which live eight ethnic minorities.
Lee Kuan Yew
- 1965 Response to CIA denial of $3.3 million bribe during 1960
If the Americans go on denying, I will have to disclose further details, which may sound like James Bond and Goldfinger, only not as good, but putrid and grotesque enough. If they continue denying it, I will play some of these tapes on Singapore radio. The Americans should know the character of the men they are dealing with in Singapore and not get themselves further dragged into calumny. You should not buy and sell this government.
Lee Kuan Yew
Even from my sick bed, even if you are going to lower me into the grave and I feel something is going wrong, I will get up. Those who believe that after I have left the government as prime minister, I will go into a permanent retirement really should have their heads examined.
Lee Kuan Yew
I have no regrets. I have spent my life, so much of it, building up this country. There's nothing more that I need to do. At the end of the day, what have I got? A successful Singapore. What have I given up? My life.
Lee Kuan Yew
We have to lock up people, without trial, whether they are communists, whether they are language chauvinists, whether they are religious extremists. If you don't do that, the country would be in ruins.
Lee Kuan Yew
When you're Singapore's leader and your existence depends on performance - extraordinary performance, better than your competitors - when that performance disappears because the system on which it's been based becomes eroded, then you've lost everything.
Lee Hsien Loong
We are looking for a path which no country has yet found. If we don't get to the next level then we will have malaise and the angst, and even disillusionment which you see in many developed countries.
Lee Hsien Loong
What will the next 50 years be like? It depends on you. Go for it! Make the most of what you have. Stretch your limits; help one another; work with your fellow citizens as one Singapore team. Show the world what Singapore can be.
