The time we shared long ago reprises itself in my memory on one particular day in the second month of every year. On Valentine's Day, I ruminate, reminisce, and regret all at once. Now, it's the 15th. The time has come again to release these resurfaced memories. Part of me would love to be able to forget, and another part of me thinks it's important to remember not only for the lessons heartbreak taught me, but also for the pleasant memories we shared.

There is an inherent magic in the act of expanding one's vocabulary, whether intentional or unintentional. Your vocabulary can serve as a mnemonic as well as memetic record of your life experiences and of the people who have affected you deeply. To this day, I still remember when and where I learned the word 'melancholy' as if those memories are still fresh in my mind; I was a little boy in the fourth grade reading the novel 'Because of Winn-Dixie.'
