I wish she understood how much she has to offer and what she is capable of. That she does not need a man to dictate her worth. That being alone is OK and that it doesn't mean you'll be alone forever. I wish she realized that her kids love her beyond what she can offer them. I wish I could be a good enough example for her to know that hard work is more rewarding than begging for scraps of affection and money. I wish I could understand why she does what she does.

I am grateful to still have a job during a pandemic. I am grateful that my family is healthy. I am grateful for the free audio book I was listening to this morning that reminded me that I can create my own happiness.
