- Dogmatism Stunts and Harms
I had a discussion with some of my family yesterday. I was reminded, much of what they tried to teach me when I was a child was not only incorrect, it was harmful. They have a dogmatic approach in their beliefs, and I have to challenge them constantly to make it clear that what they're saying is an opinion, not a fact. It was exhausting; in hindsight it was also dangerous as I'm the youngest in my family. Living under people who have issues determining fact from fiction stunted my growth.
