Just because someone confides in you doesn't mean you must confide in him or her. A confidence is a gift, and a gift confers no rights. Similarly, gifts should not be bestowed on just anyone. - Never say or write anything in anger. Always wait until you cool off before responding. A letter written or words said in anger often puts a weapon in the hands of an enemy. - Avoid all avoidable trouble. - Always be prepared to defend yourself against unavoidable trouble.
