Newfoundland Joining Canada Confederation - Myself

This quote was added by goalie_30_wildcats
It is important to know your history so, Newfoundland didn't join confederation in 1867 instead they were the last province to join confederation in 1949. In WWII many soldiers from Ontario served in Newfoundland received over sea medals why is that? I know why it is because Newfoundland wasn't apart of Canada at the time of WWII. Also there is another thing that goes apart to this and it is that 50% of the population wanted to remain a British colony and the other 50% wanted to join Canada.
