Text: The most common cause of heart failure in the United Kingdom is coronary artery disease (65%). Causes include myocardial dysfunction (ischaemic, hypertensive heart disease, or cardiomyopathy), inadequate cardiac outflow, (valvular regurgitation, or aortic stenosis), cardiac arrhythmias (atrial fibrillation), inadequate ventricular filling (constrictive pericarditis, cardiac tamponade, or tachycardias), and increased demand (anaemia, thyrotoxicosis, Paget's disease, or beriberi). Each paragraph will be a test.
