Dash vs Hyphen - Concerned Typist

This quote was added by thetypingguy
If you are going to include a quote that contains a dash, or "em dash," then please use don't use a hyphen instead! Hyphens are used for compound words, like high-tech; dashes are used as punctuation to indicate a pause. A dash is comprised of two hyphens and there are no spaces between the words. I really don't like when people use a hyphen in place of a dash-it confuses the flow of the sentence and messes up typing!
