Birdy - SHARON KERNOT

This quote was added by library003
A fairytale. Once upon a time there lived a lonely old woman at the edge of a forest. Her house creaked and groaned with clutter. Paint peeled, iron rusted. She sat in her worn old armchair with her scrawny cat, Stinker, and waited and waited for forty-five years for her daughter to come home to walk through the door to say, Hi Mum. But she will not come home. She disappeared one cool January evening. Vanished, gone. The end.
