Belief - Buddha

This quote was added by jaesynn
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

I doubt it that Buddha said such words as 'reason' or 'analysis'.

Thanks for the correction teil0. It's nice to get clarification on quotes that are floating around on the internet. I'd change the title if I could.

Not Buddha. Not even close. I could tell this was fake just reading it. It is clearly the product of a positivist epistemology, and as such could not possibly have come form the that place and period of history.
