Pain - John Greene

This quote a été ajouté par mindblown
And when people try to minimize your pain they are doing you a disservice. And when you try to minimize your own pain you're doing yourself a disservice. Don't do that. The truth is that it hurts because it's real. It hurts because it mattered. And that's an important thing to acknowledge to yourself. But that doesn't mean that it won't end, it won't get better. Because it will.

The pained survivors of King Phillip's War in Rhode Island would not agree with this modernistic victimhood lovning advice. It is true that one should not run from pain, but that one must understand it, just a a pain therapist or good doctor would do. That is important, to understand the cause, the locus, and to preidct the growth or remission of pains and abuses to the body and mind. But not to entertain them! No to embrace them! To actually, MINIMIZE and ALLEVIATE them. This modern midwestern Mr. Greene, novelist, is young. And too immersed in modern folly and reckless ideas about pain. It's no wonder we have a dread opiod problem with this kind of muddy thinking and terrible advice.
