- In the next four years...
I will educate others when I can. I will engage people with conversations, not lectures. I will correct misinformation with facts and sources. I will be patient with people who are still learning. Because we are all victims to propaganda.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus
- Old Verse 10
'Twas long ago he earned the name "hero.".. He led his retinue, ten Pokemon, against the almighty unknowable. In battle did his valiance proclaim at last the strength of humble humankind. The great unknowable approved this feat, and to its domain of no place returned.
Deleuze & Guattari
- Anti-Oedipus
Desiring-machines are binary machines, obeying a binary law or set of rules governing associations: one machine is always coupled with another. The productive synthesis, the production of production, is inherently connective in nature. This is because there is always a flow-producing machine, and another machine connected to it that interrupts or draws off part of this flow.

- Being Mortal -- The Ganges
The Ganges may have been sacred to one of the world's largest religions, but to me, the doctor, it was notable as one of the world's most polluted rivers, thanks in part to all the incompletely cremated bodies that had been thrown into it. Knowing I'd be taking those little sips of river water, I looked up the bacterial counts on a website beforehand and premedicated with appropriate antibiotics. Even so, I developed a Giardia infection, having forgotten to consider the possibility of parasites.

- I survived?
"I survived the Hurst fire" is something that I will say for years to come, even though I technically didn't "survive" in the sense that the fire actually came into the neighborhood. It was more like it was near, but they still evacuated us just to be on the safe side. And I don't want to be one of those people, because I know that the other fires were actually very dangerous and people's homes and cities were destroyed. But still. I survived the Hurst fire (technically).
2020 National Electrical Code (NFPA 70)
- Article 230.51(A)
Service-entrance cables shall be supported by straps or other approved means within twelve inches of every service head, gooseneck, or connection to a raceway or enclosure and at intervals not exceeding thirty inches.
Pyotr Kropotkin
- The Conquest of Bread
It is not difficult, indeed, to see the absurdity of naming a few men and saying to them, "Make laws regulating all our spheres of activity, although not one of you knows anything about them!"
Washington Irving
- Rip Van Winkle
He had now entered the skirts of the village. A troop of strange children ran at his heels, hooting after him, and pointing at his grey beard. The dogs, too, not one of whom he recognised for an old acquaintance, barked at him as he passed. The very village was altered; it was larger and more populous. There were rows of houses which he had never seen before, and those which had been his familiar haunts had disappeared.
Terry Pratchett
- Thief of Time
Jeremy tried to be an interesting person. The trouble was that he was the kind of person who, having decided to be an interesting person, would first of all try to find a book called How to Be An Interesting Person and then see whether there were any courses available.

- Daily Thoughts
I have found that I really like typing. I love the clicking of the keyboard, especially when I get going and can go faster and faster. I have been taking typing tests for the past hour and a half. I need to be packing since I am moving soon, but I am too stressed out to think about all that I have to do right now, so I have been doing this instead. I know I have a long way to go, but my average WPM is 50 and I think that is pretty good right now. I am so glad I found this website!

- The Memory Code
The Nasca people created the most extraordinary shapes some 2000 years ago on a stark stony desert in Peru. Some are recognisable animals and plants; some are less recognisable. There is a fish with the head of a cat and a human figure standing 30 metres tall, staring from the hillside with owl-like eyes. There's an animal that is also partly a plant.

- "SnooPING AS usual I see"
Below, the audience waits with bated breath. With stars in their eyes the likes of which we've never seen, they watch your lips move ever so slightly; waiting. "You guys are too kind. You guys, I can't find words to describe how little and insignificant this award is."
Atul Gawande
- Being Mortal -- Loyalty
Human beings need loyalty. It does not necessarily produce happiness, and can even be painful, but we all require devotion to something more than ourselves for our lives to be endurable. Without it, we have only our desires to guide us, and they are fleeting, capricious, and insatiable. They provide, ultimately, only torment. From moment to moment, I am a collection of impulses. We cannot see the inner light. Let us try the outer one.
Aniliphat
- Long Distance Love Letter
These kisses might be as faint as the breeze for they have travelled a long way across the sea, but they are full of love and longing that I have for you in every breath that I take. I still miss you night and day, whether in my sleep or while I'm awake. I'm always looking forward to seeing you, even if it is only in my dreams. If any night I hadn't dreamt of you I would feel empty and hollow inside and couldn't help blaming destiny for not allowing me to see you even in my dreams.
James D. Doss
- The Witch’s Tongue
But I want to be perfectly honest and tell you that I'd had just a little sip of my sleep tonic - which is a little-bitty, teensy-weensy dab of whiskey in a pint of hot water. With lots of sugar.
Riot Games
- Arcane Viktor
It's inescapable. Humanity. Our very essence. Our emotions. Rage. Compassion. Hate. Two sides of the same coin. Inextricably bound. That which inspires us to our greatest good is also the cause of our greatest evil.
from Ride the Cyclone
- The Ballad of Jane Doe
Some might say we're released. Pushing daises, deceased. But we all know the worms must be fed. There's just one lingering fear. Oh my soul, is it here? Or is it rotting somewhere with my head? Oh my soul, oh my soul, oh my soul, oh my soul.

- "SnooPING AS usual I see"
Presenting those who, without woe in our hearts, we proudly bestow our highest endowment. How?! Did we even do anything? Just go up there and accept the thing. Someone else do it; I don't like public speaking. Hurry up, the whole room is clapping. What is this even for? Hurry up, the food is getting cold. Hello. I don't seem to know why we're all here!
Jenny Hval
- Paradise Rot (english translation)
Her hip-bone stuck to my thigh. I moved my leg, but as our bodies slipped apart, I heard her body make a sound, not a normal sound, a fantastical sound, something like the sound of a nail breaking, of a bone fracturing, or flesh being torn apart. I closed my eyes and imagined damp dark beads rolling from her finger flesh, out of her mouth, her hip socket, vulva.

- Demon Island
Imagine your ugliest stuffed animal coming to life and sort of awkwardly chasing you around with a stick, and you'll start to fathom the terror of this movie. Grab a bottle of Fireball, or whatever college kids drink these days, and join Mike, Kevin and Bill for a cruise over to Demon Island!
