What is described is real love. For real love does not consume the partner of "love". In order to show love of the rain would make sense to build your house in a floodway while not using an umbrella and getting soaked to the bone, and then to lose the home and all belongings in the flooding of the rain? What kind of love for rain would that be! No love at all! It is insanity. Likewise real love deeply repects boundaries, proper boundaries.

Thank you for catching that. When I read it it was attributed to Shakespeare but even at the time I didn't think it sounded like him.
